Our Lady of the Lake Chotin Center
MANDEVILLE, LOUISIANA
HISTORY
Our Lady of the Lake has been serving the Mandeville community since the parish’s founding in 1850. Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School was also founded in 1890 in response to the need to educate the community’s children. A second school–Holy Family–was founded in 1897 to minister to the needs of the black community. Our Lady of the Lake’s Catholic identity has been deeply rooted in the integrated approach of serving the spiritual, intellectual, and emotional needs of the people of the Northshore, whom it has served for almost two centuries.
OUR WORK
The renovations to the Chotin Center at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School serve as a welcoming first impression for students, parents, and visitors, reflecting the school’s values and commitment to a positive learning environment. The renovations foster a sense of pride among students and staff and encourage engagement and involvement among the school community while also enhancing safety and functionality. The completed design not only elevates the school’s image but also promotes a culture of excellence and growth in virtue, using the same accent shade of blue found in the sanctuary of the church to tie together the Catholic mission and identity of the parish and school.
